You bought the cheap $5K two-step account to get a first payout fast. If you bought it on or after 25 July 2026, the Goat Funded Trader payout cap on your first two withdrawals is 4% of the account, not 6%. That is $200 instead of $300.
Goat Funded Trader publishes it in its own help centre, and those accounts now need 4 trading days per payout instead of 3. When a trader called it a trash rule on X, the firm replied once: "Our 5K accounts cost 17$ / A 17$ price for a 200$ possible return on just the 1st payout."

Keep your standard 80% share, pay the 3% processing fee, and that $200 is $155.20 in your pocket.
Our read: a published rule for new buyers is fair game, but the paperwork is a mess. On the morning of 4 August, the firm's two-step rule pages said 6%, while its Payouts FAQ already said 4%. Two pages, two caps, one morning.
What is the Goat Funded Trader payout cap?
It limits how much you can withdraw on your first two payouts from a funded account. Anything above it is gone: the Payouts FAQ says "Any profits beyond this limit will be deducted from the account balance." After the second payout the cap goes away.
The 4% version covers only $5K accounts on the two-step challenge, in both of its versions, Standard and GOAT. Those accounts also need 4 trading days per payout, and a day only counts with at least 0.5% profit.
| $5K two-step (Standard or GOAT) | Bought before 25 July 2026 | Bought from 25 July 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| First two withdrawals capped at | 6% ($300) | 4% ($200) |
| Trading days per payout | 3 | 4 |
| Profit split | 80% | 80% |

How much does a trader keep under the new cap?
$155.20 on the standard deal. The firm pays 80% of profit and charges a 3% processing fee on what is left. Its $200 is the cap before either comes off.
| On a $5K two-step account | 6% cap | 4% cap |
|---|---|---|
| Capped withdrawal | $300 | $200 |
| After the 80% split | $240 | $160 |
| After the 3% fee | $232.80 | $155.20 |
That is $77.60 less per capped payout than under a 6% cap. The fee moved too: the FAQ said 2% on 4 August and 7 September, and 3% by 20 September.
Which Goat Funded Trader page showed which cap?
On 4 August, it depended on the page you read. The Wayback Machine, a public archive of old web pages, holds these copies:
- 4 August, 02:43 UTC: both two-step rule pages carry the 4-day rule for accounts bought from 25 July 2026. Their payout cap still says 6%, with no $5K exception.
- 4 August, 03:55 UTC: the Payouts FAQ carries the 4% exception.
- By 9 September (GOAT) and 20 September (Standard): the rule pages carry the 4% line too.

We found no post on X from the firm or its staff announcing either rule. The earliest staff mention we found is from @Haruna_gft, a support account, on 17 September.

If you bought that morning and read the rule page for your account, you read 6%. Which page were you supposed to trust?
Who is complaining about the cap?
The loudest complaint on X came from @Damianfx089. At 19:46 UTC on 22 September he posted: "$200+ payout secured / Onnce I complete the remaining 2 trading days it may come up to $300". At 20:18 UTC he posted a screenshot of the 4% rule: "This is a trash rule from @GoatFunded".

His balance the next morning read $5,240.73. If he bought on or after 25 July, his cap is 4%, and by the FAQ's wording the $40.73 above it would be deducted from his balance. Under a 6% cap, all of it fits. His verdict, that morning: "5k account is no longer worth it fr".

@dhoalfunded had said it days before @Damianfx089 did, in a post of his own on 18 September: "For the first 2 payouts, your payout is capped at 4%. VERY UNFAIR."

FAQ
Does the Goat Funded Trader 4% cap apply to accounts bought before 25 July 2026?
Not by the firm's own text. Every Goat Funded Trader help page carrying the 4% cap says it "applies only to accounts purchased from July 25th, 2026 onward". Earlier $5K two-step accounts keep the 6% cap on the first two payouts and 3 trading days per payout. Keep your order confirmation: your purchase date decides which cap is yours.
What happens if you make more than the Goat Funded Trader payout cap?
You lose the extra. The Payouts FAQ says: "Any profits beyond this limit will be deducted from the account balance." On a $5K two-step account bought from 25 July 2026, the cap is $200 on each of the first two payouts. After the second payout, the FAQ says, "there are no further withdrawal limits."
How much is a first payout on a Goat Funded Trader $5K account?
At most $155.20, for a $5K two-step account bought from 25 July 2026 on the standard split. The cap is $200. Traders keep 80%, which is $160, and the FAQ charges a 3% processing fee on that. Under a 6% cap, at today's 3% fee, it would be $232.80. The firm's own $200 figure is the cap before the split and the fee.
