Two traders, one day apart, same story. On August 19 a verified Trustpilot reviewer in India said The5ers terminated his account for "coordinated trading" without showing him clear proof. On August 20 an unverified reviewer in Australia posted a review titled "Wrongful termination" making the same allegation, and opened with a warning: "Looks like there have been a few of these reviews lately."

Both traders dispute the accusation. The5ers replied publicly to the first one and stood by the decision. And in the same August 17 to 20 window, four more 1-star reviews hit the firm's Trustpilot page, covering a payout-request ban, a locked-KYC support loop, a one-sided-betting termination, and a missed compliance interview that a reviewer says cost him about $1,500. Six of the 51 reviews we scraped in that window are 1-star, against a stream that is otherwise heavily 5-star.

What are traders saying about The5ers account terminations?

The first reviewer, verified by Trustpilot, says his trades were executed manually on mobile with varying lot sizes and no identical entries, which he reads as clearly independent trading. He says he requested "evidence or a refund" and got neither, and he ends the review calling the firm a scam. That last word is his, not ours.

The second reviewer says The5ers sent him a screenshot of the trader he was supposedly copying, and that it proved nothing: trades in the same time periods, sure, but different take-profit and stop-loss levels and completely different win rates. He posted what he says is the firm's termination email, which cited "multiple account relations and similar trading patterns that do not align with our Terms & Conditions." He says his requests for specifics got only vague answers, and he predicts more reviews like his are coming.

Two 1-star Trustpilot reviews accusing The5ers of wrongful coordinated trading terminations

How did The5ers respond to the coordinated trading complaints?

The5ers answered the first review at length, in public. Per the firm's reply, the account was not terminated over a single similar trade: a compliance review of the account's trading activity and relationships identified patterns "consistent with coordinated trading," including "multiple account connections together with trading patterns that raised sufficient concerns regarding the independence of the trading activity."

The reply also addresses the trader's manual-execution defense head on: "manual execution by itself does not exclude the possibility of prohibited coordination between accounts." The firm says the trader was given a chance to clarify, the decision was upheld on review, and the evaluation fee is not refundable when an account is terminated for a Terms and Conditions breach.

That is the firm's own account of its own process. It confirms the termination happened and that the firm considers it justified. It does not show us the evidence, and we have not seen it.

What other complaints hit The5ers this week?

The termination pair did not arrive alone. In the same scrape window:

  • Payout-request ban: a verified UK reviewer (August 19) says he was told his trading method passed the firm's risk checks, kept trading the same way, and was blocked the moment he requested a payout, with the firm citing risk rules.
  • KYC lockout: a verified reviewer in Thailand (August 19) says the system locked his KYC and support is "just passing the buck/giving me the runaround" with no fix.
  • One-sided betting: an unverified Portuguese-language reviewer (August 19) says he made 20% on a $10K account and was terminated for one-sided betting he denies committing. He calls the firm a scam; again, his word.
  • Missed interview: a verified US reviewer (August 17) says he missed a 1:00 am compliance interview because of a migraine, was refused a reschedule, and lost a payout of about $1,500. The5ers replied that the interview is "a mandatory part of our compliance and account ownership review process" and the review could not proceed without it.

For scale: those complaints are 6 reviews out of 51 in four days. Our tracker puts the in-window five-star share at 84%, down from 88% during the firm's Summer Plan launch, and PropFirmMap's August 19 read of the profile shows 4.7 from 28,714 reviews. This is a cluster, not a collapse.

Has The5ers ever reversed one of these flags?

Yes, and within this same window. A 3-star reviewer from Mongolia (August 18) says the risk team flagged him for one-sided betting after he hit his 6% targets trading gold across three consecutive bootcamp accounts, short on one, long on two. He pushed back by email. His next-day update: "They activated my funded account as we exchanged few emails."

That cuts both ways. It shows the risk team's flags are contestable and at least one was walked back in a day. It also shows the flags are landing on traders who, by their own accounts, were trading their own analysis.

Is The5ers in trouble?

Here is what this record establishes: The5ers really is terminating accounts on coordinated-trading grounds, because the firm publicly confirmed one such termination and defended it. Two traders dispute the accusations against them, and neither has, by their accounts, seen evidence they consider real proof.

Here is what it does not establish: that the traders are right. Coordinated trading and one-sided betting are real prop-firm abuse patterns, the firm says it reviewed account connections and patterns before acting, and one similar flag in this very window was reversed on appeal, which is not how a payout-dodging operation usually behaves. Two reviewers used the word scam; nothing in this record proves that label, and we are not applying it. There is no regulator, platform, or third-party action here, only reviews and one firm reply.

On our board, the story still moved the needle. The5ers dropped from 69 to 64 in our August 19 scoring, taking its first red-flag deduction since we began tracking it. No drama theme existed on this firm at our August 15 baseline; this one is new. The board re-scores nightly, so if the predicted wave of termination reviews shows up, or doesn't, the score will follow.
