You checked Forex Factory. No red folder, its mark for high-impact news. You took the trade, and the account was gone anyway.

That is the FundingPips news trading complaint in 16 one-star Trustpilot reviews, each naming Forex Factory. They sit among 31, posted 17 to 21 September, that say an account was breached (closed for breaking a rule) for news trading. 25 of the 31 say the calendar did not match.

In two cases FundingPips confirmed the mismatch itself. Its reply of 18 September: "the Building Permits USD event was classified as high-impact on our calendar". Forex Factory, read on 21 September, shows that US housing release as Low for 17 September, a yellow folder.

Our read: the rule is published, and a breach under a published rule is not a trick. But the calendar that decides sits behind a login.

If a list can close your account, you are owed that list in public, with a date on every change.

What is the FundingPips news trading rule?

On a Zero account you may not open, close or hold a position in a window around high-impact news or a speech on the affected currency. High-impact means tagged Restricted on the Economic Calendar inside the FundingPips dashboard, its help center's "only official source". The Zero help article adds: "Medium and low-impact events are not affected."

What is a FundingPips Zero account?

A Zero account is FundingPips' instant-funded account; 13 of the 31 reviews involve one. "No evaluation: live from day one", its help center says. On 21 September the product page listed the $50K size at $244, with a 95% profit split every 14 days. Its help page lists news restrictions among the strict risk rules.

Its sales headline: "Zero Restrictions. Zero Excuses. Pure Trading."

Who decides what counts as high-impact news?

FundingPips does, on a calendar behind a dashboard login with no public copy we could find. What it showed is known only from its replies and the traders' claims. The help center publishes a table, "Macroeconomic Announcements Reference", whose USD row lists "Existing and New Home Sales" and "Trade Balances / Jobless Claims".

The page does not say whether the table is complete, and Unemployment Claims, its Jobless Claims, was due in the same minute as Building Permits. Still: two public calendars say Low or Medium; the one that counts, the firm says, had them as Restricted. That is the whole fight.

What did FundingPips tell two breached traders?

FundingPips' reply to Muhammad Uzair's review: Pending Home Sales (MoM) USD on 17 September classified as high-impact and restricted on its Economic Calendar, GBPUSD trade opened at 17:59 and closed at 18:02 UAE time. Trustpilot, reply dated 18 September 2026

Muhammad Uzair's breach was Pending Home Sales. Keerat Singh Deo's was Building Permits, and he posted on 17 September: "please go to forex factory and see yourself the proof that BUILDING PERMITS IS A YELLOW FOLDER NEWS".

FundingPips' reply treats his account as a Zero, puts the release at 16:30 Dubai time and says his XAUUSD positions "remained open until 16:20 Dubai time": the first minute of a 16:20 to 16:40 window.

Did the FundingPips news trading rule change?

We cannot prove it, and found no FundingPips announcement. What exists:

  1. The help center's API shows when the news trading page was last edited, but not what changed: 16 September, one day before the reviews began.
  2. proptradingvibes.com, a FundingPips affiliate, says it checked the help center on 30 July 2026. Its summary, not a copy of the page: "Only events flagged red on Forex Factory count".
  3. A reviewer posting as customer wrote on 18 September: "FundingPips Support told me that Forex Factory is no longer the source to follow". He published no screenshot.

Was the dashboard calendar the official source when these traders paid? If the source changed, who was told? We are putting both to FundingPips publicly on X.

The review posted under the display name customer: he writes that FundingPips support told him Forex Factory is no longer the source to follow, and that an event showed as restricted only after it had happened. Trustpilot, 18 September 2026

Did FundingPips mark events red after the fact?

Nobody has shown a before-and-after screenshot of the dashboard calendar. 3 reviewers say it happened.

Mallikarjuna C's review: no news event on the FundingPips calendar when he opened the trade, and one added 30 minutes later, in his words. Trustpilot, 21 September 2026

Sy Nhan NGO wrote on 17 September that the event "was later changed to high impact and marked with a red flag." FundingPips denies it: "the news event in question was not reclassified or changed from low-impact to high-impact."

How many FundingPips traders is this?

28 reviewers wrote the 31 reviews; 3 carry word-for-word identical text. In the same 5 days the page took 80 one-star reviews and at least 551 four and five-star reviews.

One of the 31: Hafeez Ullah's review of a $10K Zero account, breached on an event that was not red on Forex Factory but restricted on the FundingPips calendar. Trustpilot, 21 September 2026

26 of the 31 never name the event, so most cannot be checked against any calendar. At least one checkable case backs FundingPips: the trade was open during the 16 September FOMC press conference on US interest rates, which Forex Factory marks High, a red folder.
